Wesnet: 1/2 Day Tech Safety Workshop (Melbourne) - 5 June
This workshop is a structured and interactive session designed to build on delegates' pre-existing knowledge of technology-facilitated abuse and apply their skills and insight in a practical and responsive environment. This workshop will include an in-depth presentation on the experiences of technology-facilitated abuse, primarily focusing on the misuse of cloud accounts, social media, and stalkerware with corresponding activities to break down the capabilities of misusing cloud accounts in context of violence against women. The latter part of the workshop will explore current device monitoring and parental control applications available on the market, as well as a practical exercise navigating Apple's Safety Check and Google’s Security Checkup tools. The workshop will close with a group discussion facilitated by Wesnet’s tech-safety specialist to explore best-practice safety planning policies and processes for responding to clients experiencing technology-facilitated abuse.
