We’re thrilled to continue our journey through Kevin Heinze Grow’s therapeutic model of practice: The GROW Model. This session focuses on Social Connection—a fundamental component of Therapeutic Horticulture that fosters belonging, wellbeing, and community.Social connection is a powerful outcome of many successful Therapeutic Horticulture programs. Whether in group settings, one-to-one sessions, or individual activities, creating opportunities for meaningful interaction can significantly enhance therapeutic impact. But what does social connection in the garden look like? How can practitioners foster inclusive, supportive environments that enable people to connect?
In this seminar, we will explore the role of social connection in Therapeutic Horticulture, share examples from the gardens at Kevin Heinze Grow, and provide practical strategies for cultivating connection in your own practice.
