WIZO Gala Event
About
FINDING TRUE NORTH – A WIZO NSW MAJOR EVENTWIZO NSW invites you to a night of inspiration and connection featuring Chris Kenny and Liat Cohen Raviv.
Chris Kenny – a true ally of the Jewish community - is a columnist and associate editor at The Australian and host of The Kenny Report on Sky News Australia. Chris Kenny, columnist and associate editor at The Australian and host of The Kenny Report on News24, trusted his own moral compass at a moment when much of Australia's media class abandoned theirs. As our community needed an ally in the public eye in the wake of October 7, and then again after the tragic events of December 14, Kenny wrote and spoke with rare honesty — holding firm to what he knew to be right, regardless of the social and professional cost. In a landscape where clarity was in short supply, he became a fixed point others could orient themselves by.
Liat Cohen Raviv is a civic leader, founder of the Matzpinim movement and one of Globes magazine's 50 Most Influential Women in Israel for 2025. A resident of Metula, Israel's northernmost community, she has spent the past two years evacuated from her home, watching Hezbollah's forces massed on the border that is literally visible from her street. Rather than flee permanently, she has devoted herself to rebuilding - organising her uprooted community, advising government ministries, and speaking truth about what life on Israel's northern frontier actually demands.
Help WIZO stay on the frontlines in Nahariya.
Nahariya has become one of Israel's frontline cities in the North. Residents have lived through repeated rocket attacks, ongoing security alerts, economic hardship and significant emotional stress.
And throughout all this, WIZO Nahariya has continued operating.
When sirens sounded, activities moved into protected spaces. When anxiety increased, programs expanded. When people needed connection most, volunteers showed up.
To our brothers and sisters in the North, WIZO Nahariya has become more than a community centre. It has become a source of stability and belonging during a period of prolonged crisis.
Right now we need your help to ensure WIZO Nahariya continues to expand and stand strong on Israel’s northern front - creating resilience, strengthening communities, and helping people move forward even in the most
challenging times.
Join us as these two incredible speakers show us how to stand your ground when the world loses its way.
