Kanyana New Volunteer Information Session
Come and volunteer at one of Perth's largest wildlife rehabilitation centres!
If you love wildlife and the environment and have always wanted to learn how you can help Perth's native wildlife - we'd love to see you at our next Volunteer Information Session! Our friendly and experienced senior team conducts these sessions on the first Wednesday night of the month from 6:30 pm to 8 pm. They will talk you through all of the things we do at Kanyana and the many ways you may be able to help. Bookings are essential, but attendance is obligation free.
Kanyana accepts volunteers aged 16 and over.
If you decide that you would like to volunteer at Kanyana, you will be given information about booking into our New Volunteer Orientation (Day 1) training, which runs on the Saturday following the information night from 10am-3pm. Orientation days are run monthly; so if you cannot attend the same month as your information session, you can book for an upcoming month. This training is mandatory for all volunteers and covers our policies, processes and formalities. Everyone becomes a member and pays their joining fees on this day. You must have attended a Volunteer Information Session prior to attending.
New rehabilitation, resident or education volunteers must also attend a second Volunteer Orientation (Day 2) session.
The total cost to join as a Kanyana volunteer is $75. This fee includes a training fee ($10), uniform ($30) and your first year’s annual membership ($35, payable 1st July of each financial year; reduced fee for those joining May-June).
Questions? If you have any questions before booking your place, please email info@kanyanawildlife.org.au (Please note that places for volunteers with support workers are limited and that you may be placed on a waiting list).
Note: Please ensure that if you require any medications for any personal health conditions or allergies, you must always carry this medication on your person. Additionally, if WA public health measures are in place, please adhere to health measure regulations as they apply on the day.
We look forward to meeting you!
