Kanyana Advanced Tube Feeding Course
This course is suited to any person who has previously completed the Basic Tube Feeding Course at Kanyana.
The course extends the skills learned and practiced at the Basic Tube Feeding stage to look at the feeding of more difficult birds, including parrots.
Kanyana Volunteer (member) course pre-requisites:
Before attending this course all Kanyana volunteers must have:
- completed Basic Tube Feeding competencies
- been a Basic Tube Feeder on shift at Kanyana for at least three (3) months
- an approved mentor
- approval from their shift supervisor.
On completion of this course, you will work through the advanced tube feeding (ATF) competencies. You will be guided and progressively signed off by your Approved Mentor. The completion of ATF competencies usually takes 3–6 months from the course date (depending on the scope for practice etc.).
Your Approved Mentor should therefore be someone who has completed the ATF competencies and can actively oversee your practice and progression on your own shift.
