The Workshop
Starting just after lunch and finishing at sunset, this workshop covers everything you need to know about your DSLR camera, and how to create amazing images you never thought possible.
Everything is explained in an easy to understand way, and will help you thoroughly understand all your camera settings - and more importantly what they are designed to do. Think of this workshop as having someone explain the entire camera manual to you, and then how to apply these settings to your shooting situation.
Beginners photography workshops can be really daunting, but I guarantee my workshops are the opposite. You will have a brilliant day full of learning and make some new friends along the way.
Together we will cover:
- Your camera and how it works
- Your Apertures and Shutter Speeds and how to use them
- How ISO and White Balance effect image quality and colour
- Megapixels, Resolution and Image Sizes
- RAW files v JPEG files and which one to use and when
- Learn where the magic happens with your Shooting Modes: Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority and Manual
- Understanding Exposure and how to get it right each and every time
- Metering Modes and How to Use Them
- Autofocus, Autofocus Modes and manual Focus
- Depth Of Field
- Lenses, Lens Choice and Focal Lengths
- Composition and Creativity

My Focus For You
The philosophy of my workshops is simple: to finish the day a much more accomplished, passionate and skilled photographer than when you started.
The entire day is designed to give you the knowledge and tools you need to go ahead take the next step in your photography - taking better photos more often. Over the last three years I’ve worked with hundreds of photographers just like you staring out on their journey in photography. When you consider the cost of the equipment and not being able to maximise it, this small investment in your passion will be one of the best things you will do for your photography. And this is why my small group workshops always sell out.
About Me
My work includes campaign shoots with many leading Australian brands, celebrities and athletes such as Delta Goodrem, F1’s Mark Webber, Master Chef George Calombaris, My Kitchen’s Rules Karen Martini, Sonia Kruger, Jessica Mauboy, Ricky Ponting, Shelley Craft, Timomatic, Ashley Hart, Lleyton Hewitt, Bondi Vet Chris Brown, Hawthorn AFL, cricketer Mitchell Johnson, Olympic Gold medallist Sally Pearson, All Blacks captain Keiran Read and many others. I’ve also twice been a finalist in Australian PhotoBook of the Year.
