In our final presentation for 2022, Vitalstatistix presents Sightings - a new performance and portrait of place by acclaimed artist Gabrielle Nankivell and her collaborators.Sightings explores personal and collective mythologies of a town through crowd-sourced tales, choreographed interventions, video works, and public performance.
This new work takes Gabrielle’s choreographic practice to site-specific research and storytelling. Over the course of a residency, the artists - accompanied by the enigmatic character known as Creature – will create an uncanny portrait of Yerta Bulti-Port Adelaide.
Darkly humorous, deeply honouring, and full of warmth, these performance events conjure the curiosity of visiting a private home museum meets backyard film screening meets charming community ritual.
