About
For Winter, the Manningham Concert Band is presenting a varied program including pieces from Alexander Borodin, Percy Grainger and Vaclav Nelhybel. For Dr Who fans, we have an excellent medley (the Daleks are not invited) and we also have a medley from How to Train Your Dragon, the movie much loved loved by kids and adults alike.In addition, there will be special ensemble performances from the Oboes & Bassoons and French Horns.
This will be our first concert for the year after our Autumn concert was unexpectedly cancelled due to our Musical Director's injury and recovery from surgery. We are glad Andrew is back at the helm again.
Our band is comprised of over 45 members and provides an opportunity for:
- Older students who are leaving secondary education to continue enjoying their playing
- Younger students who wish to broaden their musical education
- Young music teachers to develop skills on second instruments and conducting
- Adult musicians from all walks of life
