Solstice Trio + Jessie L. Warren - A Woman’s Face
Stephanie Arnold, cello
Natasha Conrau, violin
Georgina Lewis, piano
Contemporary piano trio Solstice has gained a reputation for its explorative approach to curation, inhabiting a musical niche that is fresh, accessible and always exciting.
Drawn together in 2015 by a mutual desire to break the piano trio out of its classical music tradition, the group has spent the last seven years uncovering and commissioning new works, championing in particular the music of Australian and women composers.
‘A Woman’s Face’ features singer/songwriter Jessie L. Warren. Jessie sings about being human, in both an individual and collective sense. She sings about the natural world, and our place therein. She sings about bodies and self-identity, and the uneasy connections between.
This program includes arrangements of Jessie’s own music and reimaginings of songs of love and loss by Olafur Arnalds, Rufus Wainwright, Ewan MacColl and Destiny's Child.
Tickets $27 / Concession $22
