Participant’s Acknowledgement of Risk including Conditions of Entry, Waiver, Release and Indemnity
1. I have read the General Information for the “Walk for Preeclampsia” (‘the recreational event’).
2. In my judgment, I have sufficient fitness to participate in the recreational event.
3. I acknowledge that it is a condition of participating in the recreational event that I do so voluntarily and at my own risk. The risks of participating in the recreational event include risk of injury from exercise, risk of coming in contact with barriers or other objects, risk of being hit by a cyclist or other participant, risk of injury from the track and surrounding environment, risk of collision with a spectator or an official.
4. I am aware of the length and terrain of the walk as well as the weather conditions and confirm I am fit to participate in the walk as set out. I am aware Australian Action on Pre-eclampsia (AAPEC) relies on the information provided by me and I state that all such information is accurate and complete.
5. I accept all risks and release AAPEC (ABN 94 232 874 269), its servants, agents, affiliates, members, sponsors, promoters, volunteers and any person or body directly or indirectly associated with the recreational event from all claims, demands and proceedings arising out of or in connection with the recreational event and I indemnify them against all liability for all injury, loss or damage of whatever kind I might suffer as a result of any acts or omissions whether negligent or otherwise of AAPEC, its servants or agents, affiliates, members, sponsors, promoters, volunteers and any person or body directly or indirectly associated with the recreational event.
6. I consent to receive medical treatment which may be advisable if I suffer illness or injury during the recreational event.
7. I agree to comply with all rules and directions made by AAPEC in connection with the recreational activity.
8. I hereby give AAPEC and those acting with AAPEC permission and the irrevocable right to use and/or copy- right images of me, in all forms and media and in all manners including alterations and composite representations, to promote the recreational event without restriction and without compensation to the participant. The participant waives any right to inspect or approve the finished photograph(s) or image(s), or any copy that may be used in connection with the photograph(s) or image(s), or the use to which it is applied.
9. Should the recreational event be cancelled, I understand that entry fees will not be refunded and that no liability of any kind will attach to a person, corporation or body involved otherwise or engaged in promoting or staging the recreational event.
