They manage to persuade a group of ordinary women, in a small Yorkshire town Women’s Institute, to do an extraordinary thing and make an artistic nude calendar to raise money for charity. Based on the true story of eleven WI members who posed nude for a calendar to raise money for the Leukaemia Research Fund, Calendar Girls opened at the Chichester Festival theatre and has since become the fastest selling play in British theatre history. The true story of the Calendar Girls launched a global phenomenon, a million copycat calendars, a record breaking movie, a stage play and a musical. Warkworth Theatre Group is fund raising for Harbour Hospice Tui House. 10% of all ticket sales, gala opening night raffles and all donations received will go to Harbour Hospice Tui House.

Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves

Between Friday 25 November 2022 and Sunday 18 December 2022

Ali has Salma, the resourceful servant girl, a Genie, a camel with integral SatNav, and, of course, his mother to call on, but what he really needs is an audience to help him win through! Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves is a British pantomime with magic, spectacle, music, visual jokes, slapstick and verbal humour. The pantomime grew out of the old music hall tradition, adapted for family viewing – as a result there are some jokes which have double meanings. Please note evening performances start at 7.00pm, and matinees at 2.00pm
