About
Internationally renowned Classical Indian dancer and teacher Smitha Rajan is coming to Ōtepoti this October! Smitha comes from a very rich classical tradition, which spans over three generations. She is the granddaughter of one of India’s finest classical dance performers - Guru Kalamandalam Krishnan Nair and the mother of Mohiniyattam, Guru Kalamandalam Kallyanikutty Amma. Well versed in Kathakali, Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi since her early teens, her primary focus has been Mohiniyattam with the rich heritage handed over to her by her legendary grandmother. Her pursuit for excellence in Mohiniyattam has brought her numerous critical acclaims including from well-known critics in NY Times and other prestigious publications.She is offering workshops in Mohiniyattam, Bharatanatyam as well as workshops for children.
Kid's Workshop:

Mohiniyattam:
• Sat 12th Oct, 4-6pm
• Sun 20th Oct, 1-3pm
Bharatanatyam:
• Sun 20th Oct, 10-12pm
