Swop Shop Skill Share Network - Net Zero
About
LDCVS Swop Shop Skill Share Network is a quarterly event that aims to share best practice in the third sector in the Lancaster district. This session will focus on what we can do as organisations to help achieve net zero.
Achieving net zero means reducing our emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, as much as possible and from the atmosphere.
The charity and voluntary sector can play a key role in the net zero agenda, aiming for a society which is viable, liveable and clean for everyone.
Working towards net zero will require every individual and organisation to take steps to understand and reduce their carbon impact.
By the end of this session, you will understand:
• how to assess your direct and indirect carbon impact
• how to make changes that will reduce this
• how to set sustainability targets
• what funding is available to help you reduce your footprint
The session will cover areas such as buildings and offices, transport, procurement and waste management. It will be delivered by three experts in carbon reduction, all of whom have experience working with the third sector in the Lancaster district. You will have the chance to ask questions specific to your case.
Our panel of experts:
Zoe Detko (Ardea Eco-innovation; formerly of Lancaster Environment Centre)
Jan Maskell (Investors in the Environment)
Stephen Sykes / David Jolliffe (Chamber Low Carbon)
The session is free to attend, but places are limited and must be booked.
The formal session ends at 12.30, but you are invited to bring along a pack lunch and network informally from 12.30 to 1.
