Following its sold-out debut at Ronnie Scott’s, and the release of its highly acclaimed debut album, ‘Shear Brass’ returns to the Auden for another joyous evening of music and stories.With some new arrangements, fresh anecdotes, and led by his great nephew, drummer Carl Gorham, ‘Shear Brass’ once again takes you on a fascinating journey through the life and music of one of Britain’s greatest jazz icons.
‘Shear Brass’ features James Pearson, the Artistic Director of Ronnie Scott’s, on piano, Pete Long, the MD of the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra on sax, and a host of other top British jazz names whose credits include Dave Brubeck, Georgie Fame, Quincy Jones, Joss Stone, and the BBC Big Band. Its richly varied live show encompasses Swing, Be-Bop, Cool and Latin influences as well as some of the most celebrated vocal numbers of the 2Oth century.
