Forgotten Voices of the Renaissance
About
Showcase for 17th Century upper voices
ATÉ Ensemble
Forgotten Voices of the Renaissance showcases female voices of the 17th century which have long been silenced. With a wealth of music written for upper voices during the Renaissance, this programme aims to uncover hidden gems, shed light on the voices of the past and reimagine choral traditions through the lens of female interpretation. From composers including Assandra, Strozzi and Palestrina, this programme reimagines the familiar, embraces the unfamiliar and aspires to ignite a spark of curiosity for our audiences.
