Moth Count at Hardknott Forest (evening) : 26th July, 2024
Join our staff, and moth expert Ryan Clark, to learn about the moths of Hardknott Forest. The Friday evening session will involve setting light traps and lures to observe moth behaviour. The Saturday morning session we will be identifying and releasing the moths. All moths are released unharmed.
Head torches provided (but bring your own if you have them). Book for either or both sessions, sessions need to be booked separately.
Suitable clothing and footwear essential. We will not be walking far, but some paths and surfaces will be uneven and could be muddy.
Meet at Hardknott Forest Car Park on the road south of Cockley Bridge, and north of Seathwaite (Newfield Inn). Grid ref: SD 234 995. Friday 26th 9pm start. Saturday 9.30am start. Sessions will last approximately about two or three hours. Full details and directions will be given on booking.
