Temperate Rainforest 'Walk and Talk' with Ben Averis (SOLD OUT)

Join us in Borrowdale for a 'walk and talk' in the National Nature Reserve and SSSI woodlands to observe and learn about the rich variety of hyperoceanic species found in temperate rainforests. Participants will learn about the species of bryophytes, lichens and ferns that occur in these special woodlands.
Angus Walsh (Cumbria Woodlands) is joined by Ben Averis, a professional botanist with widely recognised knowledge and understanding of rainforest vegetation.
An interest in rainforest and its indicator species. A hand lens would be a benefit
Participants need to be confident on rough terrain off the path.
Dogs on leads as in the wood.
Cumbria Woodlands is supporting the Woodland Trust and Plantlife on the #Species Survival Fund Rainforest Restoration Project. The Rainforest Restoration Project is being led by the Woodland Trust in partnership with Plantlife. This project is funded by the Government's Species Survival Fund. The fund was developed by Defra and its Arm's-Length Bodies. It is being delivered by The National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with Natural England and the Environment Agency.
