The Mitford Sisters with Gillian Cane
About
The six Mitford sisters gained widespread attention for their stylish and controversial lives as young people, and for their public political divisions between communism and fascism. They were, by anybody’s standards, outrageous, both shocking and appalling in equal measure yet remain enduringly fascinating.Gillian Cane was one of the earliest female recruits who trained as an Army officer at The Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. She was the first woman ever to serve with The Royal Green Jackets, and the only woman at the time. She was a director of the Army & Navy Club, London and currently works at Oxford University.
