“This will take you to heaven” it says on Percy Kelly’s final report in 1965 after 4 years at Carlisle Art College. By 1969 he was highly sought after - all the major galleries wanted his work but he died in 1993 lonely and penniless in Norfolk.“Why?” Asks Kelly’s leading expert Chris Wadsworth. “He had it all and threw it away!”
