Step into a world where fairy tales intertwine in Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s beloved musical masterpiece, Into the Woods. This timeless story weaves together familiar characters, Cinderella, Jack, Little Red Riding Hood and more, on a journey filled with magic, adventure and unexpected consequences.At the heart of the story are a Baker and his wife, desperate to lift a Witch’s curse preventing them from having a child. As they set out to break the spell, they cross paths with others chasing their own wishes, Cinderella longing for the ball, Jack hoping his cow will give milk and countless others pursuing their "happily ever after." But when their dreams come true, they soon realise that every wish comes at a cost.
This production features a professional pit orchestra, conducted by Ms Calderwood, bringing Sondheim’s enchanting and intricate score to life. A dazzling blend of wit, humour, and poignant truths, Into the Woods remains one of Sondheim’s most celebrated works.
