COURSE INFORMATION
Minimum contact time16 hours (2 x 8-hour sessions)
DAY 1: Will be partly indoors to allow candidates to acquire techniques.
DAY 2: Will be predominately outdoors to allow candidates to become more skilful at the techniques.
Trainer Andy Forsyth, Silver Fox Training, will provide: registration, instruction, resources, course manuals & certificates
Candidates should be prepared for the following: -
- The course is an active course so casual comfortable clothes are required. For day two, elements of the course will take place outside, so candidates will need suitable outdoor clothing to cope with the prevailing conditions (bearing in mind candidates will spend time lying on the ground being casualties)
- As this is an active and practical course candidates need to be aware of their own safety, especially when kneeling. Also, candidates need to be aware of their backs when lifting or simply sitting up.
- Please bring your own yoga/sleeping mat for use during practical work when you might be lying on the ground.
- You will need a packed lunch and a mug on both days. Hot drinks will be available.
- Timing, 09.00 - 18.00 both days
As the Forest School First Aid course doesn’t cover infants (under the age of 12 months) there is the option to complete a Paediatric First Aid Award at the same time, by including some additional assessment criteria. There is an extra certification cost for this £30.
