LIVE MUSIC IN MANCHESTER: The Cabarats and The Galivantes
Saturday 23 November 2024
★ Pogo Presents: The Cabarats and The Galivantes ★ Live music in Manchester ★
THE CABARATS
No genre is safe from this band! Dub-infused rhythms and deep bass-lines collide courageously with exotic melodies, world instruments and infectious vocal hooks to form an alluring and energetic sound.
The Cabarats are constantly sourcing inspiration from all over the world, but have a particular passion for Reggae and Ska, as well as knees-up traditional music from Eastern Europe and the Middle East. The sound is embellished with electronic samples and a uniquely psychedelic texture which segues dynamically from one style to another, often succumbing to climactic moments of heavy rock.
THE GALIVANTES
Galivantes are an eight-piece rowdy 'trumpet-punk' band from Manchester whose sound is hard to pin down – not least because we have three lead singers and a range of influences from skapunk, reggae, disco, folk and rock.
