The sessions will cover: Developing Pedagogical and Subject Knowledge Creating a shared language of learning - building best practice Joining up thinking across assessment and moderation Opportunities for internal collaboration - sharing resources and planning Strengthening networks through external support and collaboration Please select which subject you wish to attend at the time of booking. The programme focuses on nurturing a supportive community of teachers who can collaborate effectively, share best practices, and inspire one another to reach their full potential. The programme involves six in person sessions held from 9am - 11.45am on: 7 October 2026 - Inclusive Practice, what makes effective scaffolding into the classroom - adaptive teaching; 2 December 2026 - Dialogic Teaching - EAL and PPG; 20 January 2027 - Assessment, how are we making accurate decisions; 17 March 2027 - Behaviour and relationships, understanding the Refining techniques, embedding effective routines; 19 May 2027 - Preparing for difficult conversations; 30 June 2027 - Embedding SEND strategies – universal offer and a graduated approach, what it means to have a fully Inclusive classroom. Level 3 Leading Forest School

Join The Keys Academy Trust for Forest School Leader training. This Level 3 course is for anyone interested in creating and running successful Forest School programmes. The course is based on the six Forest School Principles and will give you the best start on your Forest School journey. It consists of five study units (across nine days) at Level 3: 1. Supporting Learning, Play, and Development in Natural Environments 2. Delivering Forest School 3. Observing and Evaluating Forest School 4. Sustainable Use and Management of Natural Resources 5. Teaching Outdoor Practical Skills You will dive into both theoretical knowledge and lots of practical skills practice. As part of the course, you will put together a Forest School Programme for your own setting, complete a work-based assessment, and create a portfolio of evidence. About halfway through, there is a one-day workshop to help solidify everything you have learned. You will have lots of support from your tutor (Rachel Winter), who is available by phone or email for any questions or guidance during your training. By the end of this course, you will have the skills and understanding you need to inspire young people through regular, long-term play and learning in nature. Entry Requirements: 1. Relevant experience supporting children outdoors. 2. Established link with a group and a potential Forest School Site. 3. 18 years or over. Before undertaking the Level 3 Forest School course, you are strongly advised to achieve a suitable First Aid Qualification and hold a current DBS certificate. This is the responsibility of the individual participant. The course consists of eight in person sessions, all based at The Coombes CE Primary School from 9.30am - 4.30pm on the following dates: 7, 8, 14 and 15 October, 4, 5, 11 and 12 November. There will be an additional support day that can be in person or virtual and will decided mutually within the cohort. Attendees will need to provide their own lunch and refreshments. The Keys Academy Trust is part of the Cambium Sustainable Trainers Network which has trainers in many parts of the UK. We cooperate in Continuing Professional Development, standardisation of assessment and feedback, submission of work for accreditation to Agored Cymru (Formerly OCN Wales) awarding body and internal and external quality assurance. Trainers meet regularly to discuss the latest developments, and to exchange ideas, skills and techniques and to play for the future. Most members of the Cambium Network provide services direct to schools and other bodies wishing to engage with the expanding use of Forest School, Outdoor Learning and Coastal School techniques in early years, primary and secondary education.

Level 2 Assisting Forest School

Join The Keys Academy Trust for this four day Level 2 Assisting Forest School course, which offers a detailed understanding of practical skills focused on the sustainable use of woodlands. It also provides a theoretical framework for planning, learning, and play in a Forest School environment. The course is specifically designed for individuals supporting a Level 3 Forest School Leader. During this course you will discover how to support learning, play, and development in a natural setting, assist with the sustainable management of your site and develop your own practical skills. Throughout the course, you will complete the Level 2 portfolio while assisting a Level 3 Forest School Practitioner in planning and delivering at least three Forest School sessions. It is essential to establish a connection with a Forest School Practitioner before the course begins to ensure a successful training experience. Please note this course enables you to assist at Forest School, and does not qualify you to run Forest School Sessions. You will have lots of support from your tutor (Rachel Winter), who is available by phone or email for any questions or guidance during your training. Entry Requirements: 1. Established link with Forest School Practitioner 2. 16 years or over 3. A suitable First Aid qualification is useful to complement this course (can be completed after training dates) A First Aid qualification is not required to complete this course, but is strongly recommended before assisting at Forest School. TKAT Roundtable:SEN Adaptive Provision in Foundation Subject

The round table will explore adaptive teaching across KS1 and KS2 foundation subjects, drawing on the principle that “adapting teaching in a responsive way, including by providing targeted support to pupils who are struggling, is likely to increase pupil success.” Discussion will focus on how teachers can maintain high expectations for all pupils while adjusting approaches based on prior knowledge, misconceptions and barriers to learning. Leaders will consider how adaptive teaching can be achieved without excessive workload or unnecessary differentiation, using formative assessment and collaboration with expert colleagues (e.g., SENDCos) to inform responsive decisions.
