Willow Weaving Workshop – Bird House Feeder
About
Learn some basic skills and techniques of willow weaving whilst creating a bird house feeder to use in your garden.
Join The Coddiwomplers at our picturesque setting on Deepdale Farm to learn the basics of willow weaving. Emma and Stuart are teachers and basket weavers based in South Norfolk. Stuart has been honing his craft for over 15 years, with Emma joining as apprentice a few years ago. She is now a fully fledged member of the team and together they provide a fun, supportive environment in which to learn the craft of willow weaving.
The morning workshop will focus on the techniques required for weaving and basketry. You'll warm up with a simple fat ball feeder and then move on to craft a bird house feeder, both of which can be hung in your garden.
This three-hour workshop is suitable for beginners, so no previous experience of willow weaving is necessary. However, some manual dexterity and hand strength will be required. Minimum age 18.
Teas, coffees and biscuits will be provided.
Maximum 10 participants in each session.
The course is held at Downs Barn, recently modified to allow us to host rural craft courses. Depending on weather, the course will be taught in the open air grass courtyard or under the shelter of the charming barn. Either way the venue will be well ventilated. Please dress suitably for the weather.
Book in for the afternoon as well to make a range of decorative garden items.
No accommodation is included with this course. We would recommend staying at Deepdale Camping & Rooms, which offer excellent self-catering rooms and camping for tents, campervans and motorhomes.
