Lama Zopa Rinpoche explains the benefits of Tara practice:
'Tara is quick to grant success in obtaining the ultimate happiness of enlightenment. You receive much good merit or cause of happiness; It prevents a suffering rebirth in your next life. Reciting the Twenty-One Taras’ praise with devotion, remembering Tara, singing praises and reciting mantras protects you from fear and dangers, and fulfils all your wishes. If you pray to Tara, Tara is particularly quick to grant help.
There are also many temporal benefits. Tara can solve many problems in your life: liberate you from untimely death; help you recover from disease; bring you success in business; help you to find a job; and bring you wealth. Through Tara's practice, you can obtain any happiness of this life that you wish. '
Venerable Angie Muir has been a buddhist nun for over 25 years. During this time, she served at Lama Zopa Rinpoches residences in the US for 13 years. As well as doing various personal retreats, she has also offered service as well as teaching and leading meditation at other FPMT centers.
Born in Scotland, in 1970, she obtained a Bachelors Degree in 1992. Feeling disillusioned with her prospective career path and life ahead of her, she left Scotland and combined travelling with work in Asia for 3 years until in 1995 she felt a calling to go to India to explore meditation and find her life path. Within a few months “I had the incredible fortune due to some previous karma” to discover Tibetan Buddhism, meet her main spiritual teacher Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche (of almost 30 years) and become ordained.
