What is a Local Area Energy Plan (LAEP)?
About
Reaching net zero will require significant changes to the way we heat and power our homes and buildings. But it’s not always clear what changes we should be making and when. Local Area Energy Plans (LAEPs) are an important piece of the puzzle because they help give clarity and direction to people, businesses, organisations, education providers, and infrustructure providers about what kinds of changes they can expect and what they might need to do. Lancaster City Council and Energy Systems Catapult is spending the next year developing a LAEP which will help us understand how to best heat and power our homes and buildings. LAEPs are local and place based. That means your opinions, concerns, view points, and contributions will directly help shape the LAEP for Lancaster. This workshop is an introduction to the LAEP. If you feel you or your organisation should be involved in the LAEP process please email: climate-emergency@lancaster.gov.ukTo learn more visit: www.lancaster.gov.uk/laep
