10.15 am start - Morecambe murals

Stop 1. The Bay, Old Poulton - fishing village
Stop 2. The Stone Jetty - Arrival of the railways, industrial revolution, Victorians
Stop 3. Winter Gardens - the 1880s - Morecambe's first heyday
Stop 4. Platform Station - Morecambe needs a new station
Stop 5. Midland Hotel - the 1930s - Morecambe's second heyday

11.45 - return Morecambe Library
Packed lunches, historical maps and photos

Recommended afternoon activities for schools include beach time, tour of Midland Hotel or Winter Gardens, visit to Eric Morecambe statue
