Watch this remarkable story at Rutherford Theatre, Wimbledon High School, on March 16th at 4 PM. The play is in Turkish with English surtitles and is suitable for ages 16 and up.This is the heart-wrenching story of Seher and Ali, whose love for each other is so deep that the pain of their love is almost unbearable. Despite life being unkind to them since birth, they have found a sense of completeness in their most profound melancholy and each other's love.
The source of their pain is rooted in the fact that the place where they feel the most profound love is also where their gender identity is in conflict. The roles of femininity and masculinity represent the purest and most intense forms of love, but they can also be the cause of immense pain.
Seher transforms into Ali, and Ali into Seher. However, this exchange is not as romantic as a shooting star in a movie where you make a wish. Instead, it transpires in the real world through exhaustion and broken raki glasses.
