Discover the secrets of the everyday chemicals in your kitchen. Make glue from skimmed milk! Release oxygen from washing powder, carbon dioxide from cake mixture and hydrogen from lemon juice and find out how to identify these gases. Terry Page from the Royal Society of Chemistry presents these hands-on science sessions for children aged 7-12. Parents may observe or assist their children, who will be doing some real chemistry in plastic apparatus. The chemicals used can be found mainly in the kitchen cupboard.There will be three 1hr sessions during the day, starting at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm.
Tickets: £5 per child (adults and under 7s accompanying the child do not need a ticket).
The event is part of our 'Hands-On Half Term' week of science fun in Patcham, Feb 10-18.
