'The Tree of Ecstasy and Unbearable Sadness' is a groundbreaking, large-scale intermodal project weaving together the worlds of art, music and literature in the poignant story of one boy’s journey into mental illness. A lifetime in the making and five years in the creating, this astonishing new work by award-winning Australian artist/composer/author Matt Ottley is a magnum opus in every conceivable way.Matt invites viewers to slow down, reflect, and immerse themselves in a landscape of sometimes perilous beauty and wonder.
At the heart of the film is a 50-minute orchestral work performed by the Filharmonie Brno, the Czech Philharmonic Choir Brno and tenor Ben Reynolds. The music has been written/orchestrated by Matt Ottley.
Following the film, there will be a Q&A with Matt Ottley, then book sales and signing.
