Islington Choral Society: Duruflé Requiem & Vaughan Williams
Islington Choral Society start their year of concerts with an evocative and wonderfully haunting programme. Musical Director Michael Waldron will lead the choir, mezzo-soprano Amy Lyddon, baritone Samuel Pantcheff and the Orchestra of the London Choral Sinfonia as they perform Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical songs and Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem, surely one of the most poignant and beautiful of 20th century choral masterpieces.
The orchestra will also play Vaughan Williams’ sumptuous string melodies Five Variants of Dives and Lazarus.
Join us at Holy Trinity, Sloane Square, the church described by Sir John Betjeman as the Cathedral of the Arts and Crafts Movement. Concert 7.0pm. Doors open 6.30pm
