This cold war thriller set in suburban London in 1960-61 was not only recommended to us by one of our Patrons, BAFTA-award winning writer Laurence Marks (of “Birds of a Feather” fame as well as many hit TV dramas) but we are honoured and delighted that Laurence will be Directing the production with Debi Lisburne Diacon as his Co-Director.Set during the Cold War in Ruislip, north-west London, this tense drama is based on a true story. Barbara and Bob live with their teenage daughter Julie in a quiet surburban street when a high-level plain clothes policeman arrives to ask whether he can place a surveillance look-out officer in their front bedroom – just for a few days. The family are not told why nor who they are trying to catch or what they might have done. Daughter Julie finds it exciting, father Bob is pragmatic but Barbara finds the whole thing intrusive, worrying and extremely stressful.
