Going Beyond Surplus Food : A Community Conversation
About
An evening of lively conversation followed by a shared one-pot meal cooked by Ellen from Father's House community cafe. This community conversation will explore the increasing challenge of accessing surplus food to supply the District's food support organisations, including food banks and food clubs. What alternatives exist to the current surplus food model? And what can we do as communities to create more fair access to healthy and sustainable food?
Anyone with an interest and ideas to share is welcome to join, particularly if you are active in the local food support network, if you're involved in food growing, selling and cooking at any scale, or you want to see a more resilient, healthy and fair food system in North Lancashire.
This event is hosted by the Lancaster District Food Justice Partnership and the Closing Loops project as part of the FoodFutures 'Spring into Action' week of events.
