Sixth former Elizabeth is organising this event for EDUKID to help a Cambodian family she met and explains why below...Mao recently lost her husband in a tragic road accident, leaving her with three young children. Mao's eldest son (14) has left school to work to support his family. Mao also works full-time at a local school however, she only makes around £50 a month. Any unexpected costs and they are unable to afford to eat properly.
They live in a temporary metal hut which Mao built herself on land they do not own. Living in such uncertainty is an immense struggle. The family sleeps on one 'makeshift' bed.
We want to make a difference by buying Mao a plot of land. To have some security and something she can pass on to her children. It would change her and her family’s future.
We would love to get at least 120 players - we can allocate teams on the day or you can enter a team of 6. It's just £5 per player with any extra donations most welcome - It'll be a great evening!
