British baritone Huw Montague Rendall has risen to the heights of international fame in only a few years. He has recently made stage debuts at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Opéra National de Paris, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, and the Salzburg and Glyndebourne Festivals, earning rapturous acclaim for his compelling artistry, stage craft and musicianship.
Described as "that peerless song accompanist” by the Daily Telegraph, Graham Johnson’s distinguished career, ground-breaking recordings and publications make him one of the most important figures in song today.
Johnson is particularly associated with the music of Franz Schubert. For this concert he joins forces with Rendall to perform 'Die Schöne Müllerin', rightly acknowed as one of the greatest song cycles ever written.
Graham Johnson will give a brief introduction to the work at 7.30pm (not 6.30pm as previously advertised) to be followed immediately by the performance.
