About
This training aims to shape and inform effective safeguarding practice for new and/or existing Designated Safeguarding Leads. It will facilitate and actively encourage a questioning and reflective approach from participants in order to address potential grey areas, key challenges and the realities of safeguarding in 2024.
The session costs £25 (LDCVS members) or £50 (non-members)
Content
- The legal and Pan-Lancashire procedural frameworks for safeguarding adults, children and young people and know how to apply these in practice
- The effective assessment and management of safeguarding risks in different contexts
- Different types of abuse and neglect, what to look for, how to respond and what to avoid (including contextual safeguarding)
- Applying learning from case reviews and experience
- Understanding the central tenets of safer working practice with vulnerable people
- Clarity around the management of low-level concerns and allegations
Resources
Some hard copy materials will be provided on the day. Very comprehensive resources will be made available to attendees after the session, electronically.
Facilitator
Phil Threlfall is an independent safeguarding trainer and consultant based in Lancashire. A qualified, former social worker who began his career working with vulnerable adults, Phil has 30 years safeguarding and child protection experience and continues to work with a wide range of organisations across the north of England.
