Resilience and Wellbeing for Leaders and Managers
About
Led by: World of Work Project
As a society, we have seen increases in mental health and stress related absences at work in recent years.
In fact, according to a 2023 report by the CIPD, UK employee absences now average 7.8 days per year, the highest level in over a decade and two whole days more than the pre-pandemic rate of 5.8 days. Diving into this, we learn stress is a key factor and that 39% of short term and 63% of long term absences are the result of mental ill-health.
It’s no wonder, then, that wellbeing and resilience are currently key focus areas for organisational leaders and managers across nearly all sectors of our economy.
In this highly interactive session facilitated by the World of Work Project, you’ll work and learn with peers as you:
- Explore what stress and resilience are,
- Reflect on the relationship between pressure and performance,
- Learn helpful metaphors for thinking about stress, wellbeing and resilience,
- Discuss several helpful frameworks for thinking about an improving your wellbeing in work, and
- Learn and discuss practical steps you can take to improve your own wellbeing and resilience.
As always, this World of Work session will be fast paced and engaging and include theory, practical application and top tips so you can not only learn the content, but start to bring it to life in your own world of work.
This webinar is open to chief officers and senior managers of Scottish voluntary sector organisations.
