Uncovering Roman Carlisle: Summer Mini Dig 2024
About
Join in with the archaeological excavations at Carlisle Cricket Club in 2024. Visits from groups are welcomed with prior notice.
During this bonus additional mini-dig we are aiming to target evcavation on an area to the north east of the site, adjacent to where previously we have uncovered a pebble floor surface, and perhaps even provide us the opportunity to discover an eastern extent of the building (we can hope!).
This dig is very small and very short, and as such has limited spaces. Please bear this in mind.
***IMPORTANT *** On Wednesday 31st July there will be a filming crew present to record some clips for an upcoming documentary. Please only book a Wednesday slot if you are happy to appear on camera.
Spaces will be available for diggers, for archaeological labourers (the heavy work!) for a metal detectorist, soil sample processors and finds washers and a site welcomer/tour guide.
