Celebrate the legacy of one of England’s most beloved authors as we announce the winners of The Laurie Lee Prize for Writing 2024. This annual award, now in its 3rd year celebrates emerging Gloucestershire writers who, like Laurie Lee, capture the spirit of place, nature, and the human experience through their prose.Alongside the announcement of this year’s winners, this is your chance to hear readings from the shortlisted works and the entries which most captivated our judges.
The event will also feature a performance of ‘April Rise’, a poem by Laurie Lee, set to music by Jonathan Trim and performed by Every Other Monday Choir.
Whether you are a fan of Laurie Lee’s work, an aspiring writer, or simply a lover of literature, this event promises to be a memorable evening celebrating the power of words and the next generation of literary talent.
