Community conversation: Growing & sharing surplus.
About
Calling all allotments, food clubs, food banks & harvesting projects!Following the launch of the Allotment Review Report in June 2024, this networking and information sharing session has been arranged to explore possible links that can be made between allotments, surplus produce and food clubs locally. This may be of interest to allotments, plot holders, food clubs, local community food groups and those involved in projects around gathering and sharing surplus.
This session offers the chance to:
- Hear from “Let’s Grow Preston” which runs an established project that collects surplus fresh produce from allotment sites and distributes it to local food clubs in Preston
- Hear about what is happening in Lancaster District already with Food Clubs, Food Banks and the Gleaning Network.
- Explore ideas around utilising surplus fresh produce.
- Meet other people involved in food growing, allotments, local food clubs, food banks and harvesting projects.
A light lunch will be provided.
