Violinist and Maiastra Course Director Florence Cook will lead the final concert series of 2024. Florence will be joined by three talented musicians who are hoping to make chamber music a major part of their professional career. Together they will be play the well-known "Fifths" quartet by Haydn, as well as an ethereal string quartet by Britten and the bohemian Smetana String Quartet No. 1.Programme
Haydn - String Quartet in D minor, Op. 76 No. 2 "Fifths"
Britten - String Quartet No. 1 in D major, Op. 25
Smetana - String Quartet No. 1 in E minor "From My Life"
