Helping your child to flourish at school
We welcome back Edward Watson, Founder and Director of InnerDrive. In this new and insightful session Edward will discuss how memory and knowledge encoding work and talk about how we as parents can enhance that process.
He will also show some of the recent work on that age-old problem of procrastination, the teenage threat response and the importance of sleep to wellbeing and academic success.
The session will include interesting insights and practical suggestions for parents to help their students thrive and flourish at school.
Edward is an Oxford University graduate, was a major in the army, has an MBA from London Business School and was a strategic management consultant and worked with a number of FTSE 100 companies. His specific areas of interest include understanding how learning happens, leadership and motivation
As one of the leading experts on how to illuminate cognitive science research in education Edward has designed and delivered student and staff training to hundreds of schools in the UK and around the world. His is also the co-author of the international best-selling books ‘The Science of Learning: 99 Studies Every Teacher Needs to Know’ and ‘Teaching and Learning Illuminated: Big Ideas, Beautifully Illustrated’.
