Restoring the Temperate Rainforest – Conifer Clearance
About
Conifer regeneration has taken over an area of native woodland and we need your help to clear it. This work is vital to create the opportunity for our temperate rainforest to expand.
Join Angus Walsh, (Cumbria Woodlands) and Isaac Johnson (The John Muir Trust) to get your hands dirty and get some vital work done!
Participants will find out what interventions we can carry out to help our temperate rainforest recover and learn about some of the rainforest indicator species which need native woodland to survive.
PLEASE NOTE- Participants should be able, and willing to do a day of manual work on rough and steep terrain.
Cumbria Woodlands is supporting the Woodland Trust and Plantlife on the #Species Survival Fund Rainforest Restoration Project. The Rainforest Restoration Project is being led by the Woodland Trust in partnership with Plantlife. This project is funded by the Government's Species Survival Fund. The fund was developed by Defra and its Arm's-Length Bodies. It is being delivered by The National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with Natural England and the Environment Agency.
