Festive Wreath Making - Natural and Foraged
About
Sunday 15th December, 11.30am- 2.30pm at Gibson Mill, National Trust's Hardcastle Crags
Join experienced local willow weaver, craftsperson and RHS certified gardener, Sofie Corfield, for this festive wreath making session. This will be a fun and relaxed workshop, tuning into the magic of mid-winter in a beautiful setting.
Hot drinks are included in the ticket price.
The workshop will demonstrate a method of creating a festive wreath that requires no fixings other than the foraged and natural materials provided. No plastic, glues, or metal will be used; Sofie will demonstrate how to weave materials together in a way that takes advantage of their intrinsic qualities without relying on artificial materials.
The re-usable base for the wreath will be made from a mixture of willow whips locally grown by Sofie, and sensitively foraged wild willow.
All greenery and decoration will also be locally foraged or gathered during Sofie's local gardening work.
