'Walk and Talk' with Jamie Chaplin-Brice - Thirlmere
About
Join us for a special site visit to Great How with Jamie Chaplin-Brice and Angus Walsh. Jamie is passionate about ancient woodlands and leads on this for Cumbria Woodlands while Angus is the project lead for our Cumbrian Rainforest project. Between them you can expect some in depth discussions and a wealth of knowledge as we take a look at the connections between ancient woodland and temperate rainforest.
We will find out about the interventions in the woods over the years and how they are being restored and learn to recognise rainforest indicator species of moss, lichen, liverwort and fern.
Cumbria Woodlands is supporting the Woodland Trust and Plantlife on the #Species Survival Fund Rainforest Restoration Project.
The Rainforest Restoration Project is being led by the Woodland Trust in partnership with Plantlife. This project is funded by the Government's Species Survival Fund. The fund was developed by Defra and its Arm's-Length Bodies. It is being delivered by The National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with Natural England and the Environment Agency.
