This comedy is described as ‘a love letter to Amateur Dramatics’.
We are introduced to Jefferson Steel, a Hollywood has-been who agrees to play King Lear with the RSC at Stratford to boost his flagging career. Unfortunately, when he arrives in England he is somewhat dismayed to discover that this is not the case!
His ego and vanity are severely tested by what he calls ‘a bunch of amateurs in Loserville!‘
