Science Community Day in Ashton Memorial
About
The Physics Department of Lancaster University is organising a third-time Science Community Day in Ashton Memorial. A day of free hands-on physics activities. There's something for kids, parents, and anyone who likes science. On the ground floor, one will be able to look inside the proto DUNE detector using VR, and check how many neutrinos pass through your hand and how they oscillate. We will have demonstrations with liquid nitrogen, a Van de Graff generator, and more. Children will be able to make planets from styrofoam balls, cars from cardboard with flashing lights, and bionic hands from cardboard and string..
Our inflatable planetarium will be on the upper floor; you must pre-book space for it before the event.
