The Rainforest Landscape, Wood pasture and Ancient Trees

About
Join us for a 'walk and talk' at Thornythwaite in Borrowdale on the 2nd April. This is a really special site for a visit to look at wood pasture, ancient trees and find out ideas about managing these landscapes and habitats. We've lined up a fantastic group of people, all of whom have a connection to Thornythwaite, the Borrowdale Valley, Rainforests and ancient trees. This is not to be missed.
The day will focus on the importance of ancient and veteran trees outside woodland to rare rainforest species of lichen and bryophyte.
Attendees will learn about the history and previous management of the site, and how the National Trust plan to manage the wood pasture here in the future. Attendees will learn about threats to this habitat, and how ancient trees and the plant and lichen species they host can be protected
