RICHMOND SHAKESPEARE SOCIETY PRESENTS
Joseph K and the Cost of Living
by Emily White | Directed by Maxina Cornwell
One story, four lives – navigating a twisted maze of discrimination and survival.
Emily White’s adaptation intertwines the torments of discrimination and injustice with the perplexities of modern-day living and delivers a witty and physical take on Kafka’s classic. Joseph K is split into four diverse characters, facing parallel experiences, and all battling to survive the nightmares within the big bureaucratic machine.
Somebody must have made a false accusation against Joseph K, for he was arrested one morning without having done anything wrong— Franz Kafka, The Trial.
