LOOT

About
This play was first performed in 1966 and awarded the Evening Standard Drama Award for Best Play. It is a masterpiece of black farce where the action goes at break-neck speed and makes fun of all the institutions of the day, in particular the Police and organised religion, notably the Roman Catholic church. It is set against the backdrop of the Swinging 60’s and begins with a bank robbery and a funeral: the consequences of which become increasingly and hilariously intertwined. This play is presented as originally written and contains some outdated language, attitudes and cultural depictions which may cause offence today.
